Briar Bookings and the Rise of UK Country

If you’ve spent any time around the UK country scene recently, one name keeps coming up, Briar Bookings. And for good reason. They’ve quietly but confidently become a driving force behind where and how country artists are being booked across the UK.

For us, that’s exciting. We work closely with the Briar team, capturing content for their artists and documenting the moments that actually move careers forward. When bookings are thoughtful and strategic, the shows hit harder, and the content tells a much better story.

A Monday Night Done Right at The Lexington

Most recently, that story played out on Monday the 19th in London at The Lexington. A venue rooted in artist history, known for breaking acts and hosting names long before they were household. You feel that the moment you walk in. It’s intimate, honest, and built for live music.

But this night was about two people.

Susannah Clegg: One to Watch

First, and most importantly for us, Susannah Clegg. Lancaster-born, British country, and already a name we’d heard countless times before meeting her. Hearing her live made it obvious why.

She’s the real deal. Effortless on stage. Emotionally locked in. The kind of artist that wins a room quickly and keeps it. Briar Bookings placing her on this support slot was a smart move, and if she’s playing anywhere near you, don’t think about it, just go. A genuine 10/10 performance.

John R. Miller: A Set That Stays With You

The headline slot belonged to John R. Miller. We introduced ourselves just before the show, offered our services, and then settled in to watch a set that will probably stay with us for the rest of the year.

Icon is a word that gets thrown around far too easily, but here, it fits. The songwriting, the delivery, the atmosphere in the room. Everything landed. The content we captured from his set is already shaping up to be something special, and we’re confident you’ll be seeing moments from this night appearing across socials very soon.

Capturing It Properly

For this show we ran our now go-to live setup: the Canon C400 and Canon EOS R, paired with the 24–70mm f2.8 and 70–200mm f2.8. It’s a combination that lets us move fast, adapt to the room, and capture both the intimacy and the power of a live performance without compromise.

At this point, it’s the kit we trust for events like this, because the moments only happen once.

Why This Matters

Briar Bookings aren’t just filling slots. They’re shaping nights that make sense for artists, audiences and the wider scene. And when that happens, everyone benefits, the performers, the venues, and the way these moments are documented and shared.

This night at The Lexington was another reminder of how strong UK country music is right now, and how important the right team behind it can be.
