Book Launches: Capturing Galentine’s Day in Leigh-on-Sea

Our partnership with Briar Bookings has taken us to countless live music moments across the UK. But more recently, that relationship led us somewhere slightly different, and just as exciting.

The Briar team introduced us to an author hosting a book launch event in Leigh-on-Sea, at the brilliant independent coffee bookshop Read-on-Sea. A warm, creative space that felt like the perfect setting for an intimate literary evening.

The author was Rebecca Anderson, and the book, Galentine’s Day.

About Galentine’s Day

Galentine’s Day is Rebecca’s second release, a beautifully written contemporary novel centred around friendship, identity and the complexities of modern relationships. It explores what it really means to choose yourself and your people, challenging the idea that romance is the only story worth telling.

It’s adult fiction in the truest sense, thoughtful, layered and emotionally intelligent. Not “naughty,” just mature storytelling that resonates beyond surface-level plot. The kind of book that stays with you after the final page.

This launch wasn’t just about celebrating a release. It was about celebrating growth, a second book, a developing audience, and a writer confidently stepping into her space.

Setting the Tone

The evening began with live music from Louise Parker, who, at this point, we seem to be seeing everywhere (not complaining). Her stripped-back set created the perfect atmosphere to open the event. Calm, emotive, and intimate.

It’s always interesting to see how live music complements other creative disciplines. On this night, it set the tone beautifully.

In Conversation

After a short break, Madeline took to the stage to interview Rebecca about Galentine’s Day, the inspiration behind it, the writing process, and the themes woven through the story.

The conversation felt relaxed and genuine. Honest insights. Then the floor opened for a Q&A session, giving attendees the chance to engage directly. Questions about characters, publishing, creative discipline, it was clear this wasn’t just a crowd, it was a community.

Capturing the Moments That Matter

For us, the role was simple, document the evening properly.

Author events deserve the same level of professional coverage as live shows. These moments help build credibility, extend reach and give publishers, readers and future event organisers something tangible to see.

From atmospheric room shots to candid interactions, from performance stills to conversation highlights, we captured the full story of the night, giving Rebecca a bank of content she can use long after the launch itself.

More Than Music

This event was proof that storytelling exists in many forms. Whether it’s a country song on stage or a novel in a reader’s hands, the principle is the same, connection.

We were glad to be there. Glad to support Rebecca. And grateful that partnerships like Briar Bookings continue to open doors into new creative spaces.

Another brilliant night. Another story told.
